Terms and Conditions:
When registering for Walk in the Park 2018 I agree to the below terms and Conditions:
- Participant declaration – By completing the registration form I hereby declare that I am participating in this event entirely at my own risk. I acknowledge that all persons directly or indirectly involved in organising this event are not liable for any loss or damage suffered by me or others relating to my participation in the event (whether as a result of negligence or otherwise). I agree to indemnify Parkinson’s Victoria, the event organisers, sponsors and all officials against any and all claims arising from my participation in A Walk in the Park Geelong. I am solely responsible for personal belongings and understand and acknowledge that Parkinson’s Victoria and the event organisers do not accept responsibility for any loss or damage to this property. I will abide by the event rules and conditions and agree that the event organisers may, at their absolute discretion, vary the event rules and conditions without prior notice.
- Physical fitness – I hereby attest and verify that I am physically fit and have trained sufficiently for the event. I further attest and verify that I do not have a physical or intellectual impairment that may make my participation unsafe for myself or others.
- First Aid – I authorise any first aid required as a result of participation in A Walk in the Park Geelong to be administered should provision be deemed necessary.
- Parent or guardian – entrants under the age of 18 must obtain prior permission of a parent or guardian over the age of 18 to participate.
- Refunds – The entry fee is non-refundable under any circumstances, including change of mind, circumstance or cancellation of the event.
- Event environment – This is a smoke, illicit drug and alcohol free event.
- Extreme weather – The safety of all A Walk in the Park Geelong participants is the highest priority of Parkinson’s Victoria and the event organisers. In cases of extreme weather, Parkinson’s Victoria may make the decision to modify, postpone or cancel the event. Signage will be placed at the event location as soon as possible prior to event commencement.
- Privacy Statement – Parkinson’s Victoria understands the importance of protecting the privacy of individuals and complies with the relevant legislation to ensure the confidentiality of any personal information collected. Parkinson’s Victoria will collect personal details at registration for the purposes of administering the event and informing you of future A Walk in the Park events and information about Parkinson’s Victoria. Personal details will not be disclosed by Parkinson’s Victoria to a third party except to third parties who are associated with the administration of A Walk in the Park and marketing and promotional purposes.
- Use of image – I consent to the event organisers and approved contractors the free publication and/or use in any form of media whatsoever of my name, photograph, image, voice, interview, appearance, statement or otherwise, without payment or compensation.
- Emergency contact details – By registering at an event my contact details will be passed on to the event organiser for the purpose of identifying who is registered at the event
- Copyright – the content, design, graphics and other materials related to A Walk in the Park are protected under applicable copyright and intellectual property laws. The copyright, reproduction, use, modification or publication of full or part of the logo and marketing materials is strictly prohibited without the permission of Parkinson’s Victoria.
